Macro Economics A2 Course
Although some teaching of the basic concepts may be applicable, the main purpose of the day is to develop deep thinking skills on key macro economic concepts.
If students come fully prepared by undertaking the pre-course activities on the fundamental concepts, the focus will be on helping students to formulate their opinions on contemporary macro economic issues so they have a better opportunity of accessing the higher grades that require more rigorous analysis and good evaluation.
This revision courses aims to encourages students to think deeply about key issues such as
1. The causes of the credit crunch
2. How to solve a persistent deficit on the current account balance
3. The monetary versus the keynesian debates on
- Inflation,
- Unemployment,
- Long run AS,
- How best to recover from the current credit crunch
4. The relative importance of suply side economics and demand management of the economy
